Scheduling Appointments

“Special” Appointments

Up to this point, you have probably scheduled “special” appointments such as an EXAMINATION, RECORD TAKING SESSION, CONSULTATION, or BANDING (placing braces). Accordingly, these appointments are limited to specific times and days so that we may spend sufficient time with each and every patient. We hope this has not inconvenienced you.

“Regular” Appointments

When a patient is in “active treatment” with braces or a removable appliance, adjustments (“regular” appointments) may be scheduled any time between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Long appointments will typically be scheduled in the morning. We reserve the after-school appointments for the shorter adjustment appointments in order to better accommodate as many patients and parents as possible. After-school appointments are in high demand, and to be fair to everyone, 1 of every 3 or 4 adjustments will need to be during “school hours”. Last minute rescheduling of after-school appointments will need to be scheduled during “school hours”. If you can routinely schedule adjustments in the morning, it would be appreciated.

Broken Braces – Late Arrivals – Broken Appointments / No Shows

When you schedule an appointment with Burkhardt Pecora Bloomberg Orthodontics we set aside enough time to provide you with the highest quality care. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please contact our office as soon as possible, no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. This gives us time to schedule other patients who may be waiting for an appointment. Please see our guidelines below:

• Broken braces necessitate longer appointments. We may not be able to complete the repair at your regularly scheduled appointment. In order to prevent delays in treatment, please call to inform us of any problems as soon as possible.

• In order to better serve all of our patients, we ask that you call ahead of time with requests for repair appointments, as our schedule does not allow for walk-in repairs.

• We make every effort to seat our patients at their scheduled time; please help us by arriving on time for your appointment. If you arrive significantly late, it may be necessary to reschedule to a later date.

• Appointments missed without 24 hour notification incur a $40 “no show” fee.

• As a courtesy, we do offer a variety of ways for you to receive appointment reminders. Please let us know if you have a preference for phone call, text, and/or email.

We understand there may be times when an unforeseen emergency occurs and you may not be able to keep your scheduled appointment. If you should experience extenuating circumstances, please contact our office. Emails and phone messages can be received 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We respond to them during normal business hours and work to reschedule the appointment.

Thanks so much for your cooperation – we appreciate your help.
